A quorum was present and the meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman John Pfeiffer who authorized Cynthia Taylor and Jeff Cooley to vote. John Forbis moved, seconded by Jeff Cooley to approve the November minutes. John Forbis, Cynthia Taylor and Jeff Cooley voted in favor, motion passed.

1. Communications: Janet Lage, of 46 McCurdy Road, emailed the commission to find out if her house would be included in the Historic Resource Inventory Survey. Martha Hansen was able to verify that the house will be included and communicated this to Mrs. Lage.
        
2. Public Open Forum: no participation

3. Plaque Program Update:
209 Mile Creek Road: Research is continuing on the Wait family.
60 Lyme Street: the new owners are interested in a plaque for their house.
5 Bailey Road: Alexandra Escher is interested in a historic plaque for her home, ca 1820
26 Sill Lane: Caroline Ronchini has requested historical information about her home.
10 Ferry Road: The date of 1830 appears to be correct, the original builder is still being determined.

4. Secretary’s Report:  
The new Historic District Handbook is almost ready to print.
The annual CLG (Connecticut Local Government) Report is ready to submit.
The FY19/20 budget was submitted to the Finance Director. The budget is the same as last year (no increase).

Active (Open) CofAs:
  • 55 Lyme Street, screening fence for propane tank and AC unit
  • 38 Lyme Street, renovations
  • 97 Lyme Street, renovations
5. Any Other New or Old Business:
The Historic Resource Inventory Survey is proceeding; the town is expecting a report in January.
The HDC has openings for two members. If you are interested please contact the Selectman’s Office.

6. Adjournment:  John Forbis moved, seconded by Jeff Cooley to adjourn the meeting at 9:36 am. John Forbis, Cynthia Taylor, and Jeff Cooley voted in favor, motion passed.
